Inspired

I've slacked off a bit on blogging, I think it's because I'm not going on morning walks as often so I don't have that "alone thinking time" that so motivated many of my posts. But I tell you, I have been so inspired by the blogging movement today. Many of you know of Stephanie and Christian Nielson, (www.nieniedialogues.blogspot.com) who survived a plane crash and have a long road to recovery. Stephanie is about 6 years younger than I am but we know her family well, they were in my ward growing up and her dad was my bishop for most of my young women's years, my two older brothers were good friends with her older brothers. A lot of people have been affected by this accident and I for one have kept up with any sort of update I can find. (Especially www.cjanerun.blogspot.com). I have been totally impressed with the support and love that has been shared, via the balloon launch, letters and financial donations, etc. But I tell you, Nie Nie Day that has been launched by www.designmom.com is over the top impressive, and 100% of the proceeds go to the Nielson recovery fund. I have been to lots of silent auctions, even won a few, mostly ones way below cost. And when I looked at the auctions being offered on her site and links to many other blog spots I honestly thought that I would love to donate some money for such a worthy cause, and get something nice in the process. Now that we are into it almost 12 hours, I am realizing that I may not win anything. I'm not kidding, everything has been bid on, many way above actual value. This auction is HUGE. People are so generous. Some that don't even know Stephanie. I am so inpressed and inspired by the goodness of so many. And maybe, just maybe some of it will rub off on me and I'll win that totally awsome stroller. You should check it out! And bid. It's for a great cause!

I think that I've been outbid on everything! It truly is amazing to witness the love and support. Why does it always seem like tragedies have to occur to bring out the true caring in most of us? I mean -it's almost reminiscent of the feel after 9/11. It is great to see the phoenix rising out of the ashes. And thanks for updating your blog! =)

Amen to all of this. I have just been so sober this week reading this family's story. I am praying praying praying for a few miracles. And bidding too. (And losing too...somewhat to David's relief.)

I am completely in awe of the Clarks (and of Designmom's influence in the blogging world). So did you win anything?
