Fruit Temperature

It's been a while. I know. I've actually been working on a post but can't quite figure out the point I'm trying to make so it's on the back burner for a little bit. Sad when that happens. (Especially when it's not infrequent).

Today I bought apple pears at Costco. Have you had those? They are delicious. It got me to thinking, as I was pondering whether to refrigerate them or keep them on the counter: which fruits do I like cold and which do I like at room temperature. My list is a little surprising because there are not a lot of foods that I like at room temperature, but apparently fruit is a different story.

Cold:
Apples
Oranges
Melons
Grapes

Room Temperature:
Cherries
Berries
Peaches
Pears
Nectarines
Plums
Tomatoes (yes, I do know that's a fruit)
Kiwis
Apple pears (try them!)
Apricots
And probably everything else

Is there anything you'd switch in these groups? I wonder if the things I picked as a child and ate in the summer play a part in my preferred temperature? Apples don't fit into that, but we didn't have an apple tree. Yet I also didn't have a kiwi tree. So, one rule does not fit all. Hmmm.

This is a pretty goofy post, but I was thinking about it today so there you go. An update!

I like oranges at room temperature. That's what I'd switch. Everything else I agree with.

I have tried apple pears and they are delish. Have you tried grapples? They're my favorite!

You're a goof. What a fun post.

Ironically - all I have to comment about this "fruit" post is this: "NO COMMENT"! =)
